  • Overview

    The main purpose of the role is to support the group strategy by ensuring that LafargeHolcim has the right people/leaders today and tomorrow.  It is critical to create and maintain a sustainable competitive advantage.

     

    Focus on top executives (Senior Leadership Group) activities by promoting effective career and individual development and adequate succession planning and staffing to SLG positions (in conjunction with Group ExCo). This implies being strategic and dynamic in how we source, attract, assess, develop and build commitment. The strategy is executed in partnership with senior executives across the regions/countries.

     

    It also has a component of acting as Business Partner to the Heads of Functions and implements O&HR strategy and talent approach. In partnership with the Heads of Functions and leveraging other O&HR resources, he/she looks after competencies, people and organization from a functional angle.

     

    The role requires visible leadership and role modeling in Health & Safety (H&S) and Diversity & Inclusion (D&I). More specifically, promoting H&S and D&I actions/behaviors within the functions, as well as fostering their integration in all policies, activities and documents developed.

    Responsibilities

    Business Partner:

    • Operate as a strategic business partner to Functional and Department Heads to support the continued growth and development of their teams, leveraging a strong understanding of the function and the ability to bring effective O&HR support (either directly or by coordinating with internal/expert parties).
    • Support the implementation of O&HR strategy and foster the development of O&HR awareness, skills and mindsets across functions, with a view to always strengthening the development of people and competencies.
    • Ensure the effective organizational design of the supported functions.
    • Provide input for staffing decisions for key positions for the supported functions.
    • Promote and support functions in their Talent Management and Succession Planning.

     

    Implementation of HR policies and processes:

    • Ensure that the Group’s functional HR policies are well embedded and effectively and consistently deployed through the business and across functions.
    • Ensure that key HR processes are appropriately implemented, so as to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.

     

    Talent/Career management:

    • Be familiar with key employees in global functions (e.g. at Country ExCom level, other key managerial positions, top talent etc.). Maintain contact with key functional employees through career interviews.
    • Promote and support the identification, assessment and personal development of the “next generation” of top management (high potentials)
    • Promote and support regions, functions and countries in their Talent Reviews and Succession Planning.
    • Leading relevant training, knowledge and awareness campaigns

     

    Recruitment and Staffing

    • Provide support in the selection process of positions belonging to the Senior Leadership Group.
    • Provide support in the selection process of key functional positions globally.
    • Support the deployment of assessment tools as needed in the selection process for key functional positions.

     

    Performance Management and Development

    • Facilitate development activities, in line with individual development plans.
    • Support the functions through the annual performance appraisal process in order to implement a high performance culture.
    • Continuously improve the quality of O&HR output for the teams by managing the relevant tools and processes.
    • Leading relevant training, knowledge and awareness campaigns.

     

    Learning and Development

    • Recommend Learning & Development strategy to the functions, supporting them in identifying and defining learning and change levers for performance;
    • Develop the use of new technologies in L&D
    • Supports the design and ensure the successful delivery of the LH Business School and its roll out at Regional and Country levels
    • Promote innovative, cutting-edge learning solutions, based on the Digital Transformation of the LafargeHolcim Group, adopting a customer-oriented approach to best answer business priorities.

    Education/Qualifications

    • University degree
    • Professional HR Generalist qualification preferable

    Experience

    • General HR experience or functional management experience
    • Significant exposure to a wide range of O&HR topics
    • Proven previous experience in working with/at senior leadership level
    • A career-mix of corporate and operational experience is a plus
    • Proven experience in working internationally is a plus
