  • Overview

    The job holder will be part of the Maintenance and Material Handlilng group in the Cement Industrial Performance function.

     

    The role of this group is to provide sound technical expertise to our plants and industrial community in the field of equipment performance and reliability at optimum operating cost, in order to maximize sustainable business results and to reach manufacturing excellence.

     

    The primary focus of the job holder is to execute missions, tasks and assignments in the fields of equipment performance and reliability delivering solutions, adding value to the Group.

     

    He/she actively contributes in achieving a company strategy and to reach team goals and priorities through the following:

    Responsibilities

    Health & Safety and Security compliance

    • Be H&S compliant; act as a role model in regions and plants, be safety conscious and proactive contributing to shaping a Group safety culture. Actively participate in training and engage people in safety discussions

    Experts mission

    • Manage own time and resources, structure and execute assignments in due time as well as in good quality; understand and anticipate client needs ensuring effectiveness and bottom-line impact of proposed solutions
    • Deploy and provide technical expertise in the fields of grinding equipment, filters, kilns, gears and reducers, fans, blowers, compressors, coolers, hydraulics, conveying systems, preventive maintenance techniques, packing machines, palletizers, welding, mobile equipment as per the following activities:
      • Provide technical expertise to cement plants regarding their complex mechanical needs, issues linked to design, operations, troubleshooting and maintenance in order to achieve high performance and equipment reliability
      • Provide high-level assistance in eliminating mechanical failures by using systematic and methodical systems to determine root causes (Root Cause Analysis);
      • Complete plant mechanical audits to identify weak areas and potential improvement opportunities to maximize equipment life cycle and efficiency
      • Support in planning, execution and supervision of large jobs during major overhauls
      • Assume a proactive role towards new technologies in order to reduce equipment malfunctions or failures, and prevent reoccurrences
      • Perform a variety of analysis techniques such as Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA), Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA), Finite Element Analysis, Fatigue Analysis, etc
      • Collaborate with Project Management and Engineering  in new projects, in carrying out design reviews on new and critical mechanical equipment and ensure maintainability
      • Advice operations in developing an optimal replacement strategy for the main mechanical equipment, identify and recommend critical spare parts and follow-up implementation.

    Development of process tools and process systems

    • Identify, develop and roll out a new preventive maintenance routine and techniques
    • Develop and maintain process and operational tools supporting manufacturing;
    • Develop and maintain predictive tools

    • Create and animate a network of experts, communities of practice, collaboration tools and knowledge platforms

    Education/Qualifications

    • Mechanical Engineering degree

    Experience

    •  Experience in operations (industrial) is a plus
    • Experience with large equipment, standard design criteria and scientific reliability engineering
    • Multicultural experience
    • Experience in a Corporate or Regional role is a plus

    Language Requirements

    Proficiency in English. German & French would be an advantage.

    Travel Requirements

    International traveling estimated at 60% - 70%
