  • Overview

    To support Group companies in design and operation of waste pre-processing facilities and AFR feed systems (in the following called AFR installations): Concept development, design and engineering of AFR installations: basic engineering, tendering (tender document, tender evaluation), detail engineering review; Prepares investment and operating cost estimates; Provides commissioning support for new AFR installations; Evaluates project profitability of proposed AFR installations; Takes over overall project coordination; Assesses operating conditions and technical & financial performance of AFR installations and provides recommendations for optimization; Evaluates and proposes design safety concepts for AFR installations; Documents knowledge and information in reports and manuals; Elaborates and gives presentations at meetings, workshop/seminars, courses and conferences; Acts as group coach during workshops/seminars; Contributes to or leads and moderates workshops/seminars/conferences; Critically reviews suppliers and/or plant proposals; Keeps frequent contacts with key equipment suppliers and challenges them regarding equipment design and product portfolio. Encourages suppliers to further develop equipment & processes for our needs; Develops existing AFR technologies and processes further; Identifies innovation needs, initiates and develops innovative ideas, leads process innovation projects; Acts as AFR technology trendsetter; Supports local, regional and corporate projects managers / teams in AFR related investments


    • Is responsible for the elaboration of know-how as well as its sharing within the Group. Takes a leading role in developing his technical field  
    • Is responsible to develop group design standards for AFR installations
    • Ensures ACert compliance in involved projects
    • Carries out projects & studies related to AFR investments
    • Supports group companies in design and operation of AFR installations
    • Develops business cases to implement the country AFR strategy


    • Degree in mechanical, process, civil or environmental engineering (technical university or university of applied sciences
    • Master of Science
    • Communication /presentation skills


    • More than 10 years of industrial experience, preferably in cement or waste industry
    • Project & Engineering Experience

    • Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Autocad, Revit
    • Has as “Just do it” spirit

    • Proactive approach towards group companies, anticipates their needs and supports in due to time

    • Provides hands-on solutions that local teams can implement

    • Does not makes thinks unnecessary complex

    German: Knowledge preferred, English: fluent (oral & written) Spanish: knowledge preferred French: knowledge preferred Others

    Travel Requirements

    40% travelling related to 45 working weeks per year (means 18 weeks or 90 days per year of traveling) Assignment of up to 2 weeks duration possible
