  • Overview

    Develop and lead innovation projects (scouting, identification, development and implementation with group companies, follow-up and preparation for multiplication, communication) in line with the group strategy (allowing for disruptive competitive advantage and/or growth) within the New Technologies Team in CIP and PME.

    Oversee green energy projects in and outside of the group and work with internal and external partners in order to secure green energy supporting our CO2 roadmap as well as the LH group strategy related to disruptive cost competitiveness.

    Responsibilities

    • Scout and develop green energy projects in manufacturing (quarry to lorry) that lead to disruptive Ebitda contribution and/or growth
    • Realize and implement energy  innovation  projects together with group companies under the umbrella of the overall LH innovation process
    • Responsible and accountable for the allocated innovation projects
    • Contribute to Industry 4.0 projects as well as process innovation in the field of Carbon Capture and Utilization
    • Work together with the team of engineering in order to design the plant of the future in line with the group strategy
    • Communicate and collaborate with internal and external partners  to spearhead innovation in energy
    • Coordinate and animate process innovation communities in the area of green energy

    Education/Qualifications

    • Engineering or Business, Economics degree
    • Advanced degree (MBA or similar) is advantageous

    Experience

    • Minimum 5 years experience in energy scouting and management of energy related projects
    • Proven performance  in developing, managing and implementing successfully energy  projects in energy intense industries
    • Experience in different geographies and managing different cultures

    Knowledge & Skills

    • Proven experience in combing technical (e.g. equipment, systems, buildings) and market segment  expertise to support the resolution of complex energy and water management issues and advising on the development of new projects and products
    • Proven experience in identifying, evaluating and prioritizing of Capex projects and operational changes resulting in reduced energy and water consumption or in supply of green energy
    • Successful implementation of green energy projects (solar, wind, geothermal., …)
    • Proven experience in monitoring, benchmarking, analytical tools for getting insight in energy performance
    • Technical credibility to convince and engage  operations  to innovate their way of working in a plant
    • Cultivate innovation & improvement: Generates, brings and scouts for new ideas.  Curious and interested in knowing about external trends. Moves beyond traditional ways of doing things; challenges the status quo.  Encourages diverse thinking to promote continuous improvement.     Language Requirements

    Fluency in English, additional languages advantageous

    Travel Requirements

    The role requires 50% of travelling time as well as an ability to travel to all LH locations worldwide.
