  • Overview

    Support Global Category Manager to ensure the successful coordination, implementation and execution of category strategies. Align and drive performance for all assigned category projects, ensuring that the procurement strategy, ambitions, savings, and objectives are achieved.Contribute to the development and execution of global and local sourcing strategies which are innovative and drive competitive advantage for the Group resulting in significant EBITDA contribution.Responsible and accountable for the category initiatives in the subject scope, leading cross-functional teams, acting as a cost challenger for the initiatives managed.

    Responsibilities

    • Ensure that global category management contributes to the Group Health and
      Safety ambition
    • Meeting the objectives of Sustainable Procurement and Automation are
      achieved in category
    • Consolidation and Coordination of needs and data for rebates, global tenders
      and internal benchmarking and feedback to global category manager
    • Providing direct support to countries by leading local tenders/renegotiation
      when countries are outsourcing Mining activities
    • Ensure application of strategic sourcing process (including eSourcing tools)
      across the category by deploying innovative sourcing strategies, while
      leveraging the innovation potential of stakeholders and suppliers
    • Under the leadership and supervision of the Global Category Manager, identify saving
      opportunities and initiate individual projects and initiatives at the zone and country
      levels and ensure alignment with global category strategy
    • Where compliance is an issue, find and eliminate root causes.

    Education/Qualifications

    University degree in Business, Economics or Engineering.

    Experience

    • Up to 3 years in strategic procurement role with exposure to supply chain
      management, complex strategic sourcing and optimal procurement processes
      and standards.
    • Experience in different geographies and working with different cultures.

    Knowledge & Skills

    • Business & economics, Marketing & Sales, Procurement, legal & contractual
      areas, Engineering
    • Expert negotiation skills
    • Proven ability to assess potential and risks associated with supplier and market
      changes, and integrate with category and sourcing strategies
    • Ability to effectively lead people and manage by influence

    Language Requirements

    English required, an additional language, would be advantageous.

    Travel Requirements

    Ability to travel globally up to 30% of the time.
