  • Overview

    As a member of the Center of Reporting Excellence (CoRE) Business Partnering and Gouvernance (BPG) team, under Finance’s Accounting, Reporting and Internal Control department, you will be acting as a Business analyst. The business analyst works closely with the other departments in the Finance area mainly with reporting solutions and optimizing reporting processes as well as advising Finance dept on cross-reference topics between reporting systems and business / financial matters. This includes monitoring and optimizing data flows and reporting efficiency and ensuring the defined processes are followed (change management, governance model required for audit purposes). The business analyst functions as an interface between business and IT, by understanding technical reporting landscape and providing the optimal technical solution. This role will report to the Head BPG. Strong interaction with the CoRE Consolidation and Business Intelligence technical teams is also expected.

    Responsibilities

    • Reporting and Accounts closing activities to support the business stakeholders during the events (actual and planning)
    • Collect and understand the reporting requirements from business (Finance Dept - Corporate and operating companies) and translate these into functional/technical specifications to be implemented in the reporting applications (SAP-FC, SAP-BW, QlickView)
    • Maintain and develop formulae in an in-house developed application tool (Calculation Engine), to facilitate complex KPI’s reporting in the management reports and front-end applications
    • Develop and maintain integration and acceptance testing concept for CoRE’s system changes and operational validation for quality assurance of month end closing related management reports
    • Develop training material/documentation and provide training to business users; answer help desk questions from the business users of the corporate reporting applications
    • Recommend, determine and implement reporting solutions to business problems (primarily in SAP BO front-end tools
    • Continuously improve the quality of products/services delivered by CoRE (solutions often include a system development component, but may also consist of process improvement or organizational changes).

    Education/Qualifications

    • Bachelor Degree in Finance or equivalent
    • Microsoft Excel advance knowledge, SAP FI/CO and SAP BW experience
    • Any additional studies (e.g. master or diplomas in Finance topics) are desirable

    Experience

    • At least 3 years of working experience as financial controller or as reporting specialist in an international, larger corporation
    • Project experience from various full life-cycle BI reporting implementations
    • Proven experience in reporting process optimisations (Finance and Accounting)

    Knowledge & Skills

    Technical/Functional Skills

    • Experience with governance and change management processes in agile and dynamic environments; ensuring full compliance with governance standards is a must
    • Very advanced knowledge on financial reporting topics (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statement, their dependencies, variance analysis, graphic presentation of financial results and deviations, etc.) and financial consolidation topics (e.g. intercompany matching and elimination, currency translation, consolidation of investments, reclassifications, joint venture accounting, etc.). Familiar with Lafarge Holcim accounting standards (LHARP) and IFRS concepts.
    • Affinity to IT solutions; easily translates reporting requirements into IT/technical specifications, preferably familiar with SAP-BW and SAP-FC reporting.

    Language Requirements

    Professional proficiency in English as base working language. Additional German and/or French and/or other languages highly appreciated.
