  • Overview

    The purpose of this role, covering 12 countries, is the responsible implementation of the LafargeHolcim security program in the region, with a strong focus on preventative security, measuring performance, collecting open source information, and reporting.


    Additionally, this role will be responsible for:

    • Maintaining close contacts with all internal relevant stakeholders to coordinate the security networks in the countries, and build relationships with key external actors to ensure that reliable security information is gathered;
    • Undertaking regular and ad hoc security assessment missions as necessary, in order to analyse the overall security situation in existing and potential areas of operation.

    The successful candidate will:

    • Act as liaison manager with the country security managers/coordinators (CSM/CSC), the country CEOs, the central support function and the Head of Region;
    • Assists the CSMs/CSCs in the management of the countries;
    • Briefs the Head of Region on potential and actual security threats and risks;
    • Support country management teams to ensure the security management system and plans are updated;
    • Support Country CEOs and other senior staff members to prepare, respond and manage security incidents;
    • Ensure that the supporting departments (HR, Administration, and Logistics) have in place an appropriate system to facilitate smooth security management;
    • Develop key liaisons with external agencies in the Region such as law enforcement agencies, local security forces, customs, and intelligence services;
    • Assist with supplier and customer assessments.


    The incumbent must have strong public affairs skills, together with sound experience in compliance. Additionally:

    • At least 10 years of international experience in Corporate security assessment, planning and implementation of directives and procedures in the region of deployment;
    • In addition, or parallel, 10 years of experience in Public Affairs in the region of deployment, including sound and tested multi-country and multi-organisation access;
    • Experience of working in complex field settings within Africa and the Middle-East;
    • Good understanding of regional geopolitical risks and the ability to identify those related to business operations, knowledge of security regulations, and analytic skills for high-level reporting; 
    • Experience in coordinating and deploying new programs into multiple countries to prevent and reduce asset losses; 
    • Capacity to assess situations objectively without allowing personal convictions to interfere;
    • Ability to provide advice and support to field staff in a consultative manner;
    • Excellent references reflecting demonstrated teamwork, maturity of judgment, tolerance, leadership and integrity of character must be provided.

    Willingness to travel across the countries in scope is essential.

    Knowledge & Skills

    Required skills include:

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
    • Ability to demonstrate strong writing, reporting, and situational analysis skills in English;
    • Sensitivity to cultural differences and ability to work in a wide variety of cultural contexts.

    Language Requirements

    Fluency in both written and spoken French and English required, Arabic a plus.

    Travel Requirements

    High level of travel required.

    Additional Information

    While this role has been advertised as being located in Casablanca, it could also remain that of the successful candidate, in which case relocation will not be required.

    French is a required language for this role.
