Today, we strengthen our teams to leverage and develop further our innovation portfolio of innovative binders and solutions for geotechnical works.


Within the R&D department “Cement Differentiation”, the Geotechnical and Soil Treatment R&D Engineer will join a project team dedicated to the development of innovative solutions for soil treatment and geotechnical activities (soil stabilization, deep soil mixing and soil decontamination), in a typical timeframe of 2 to 5 years before the solution is transferred to the market.



Your responsibilities

  • Analyze jobsite technical documents (geotechnical & geophysical reports, technical clauses of calls for tender...) and customers’ complex specifications and propose adaptations, variants or optimizations.
  • Provide technical support to our operation for large construction projects.
  • Provide technical support, including technical training, to LafargeHolcim operations.
  • Initiate, structure and lead R&D studies related to geotechnics and particularly on soil treatment. You will also define and carry out the associated laboratory research programs.
  • Ensure a scientific and technological watch in your domain of expertise
  • Organize a strong written and oral communication around geotechnical and soil treatment topics both internally and externally.
  • Ensure a collaboration with stakeholders, contractors, designers, start-ups, academia and public authorities.


  • Ph.D. in Materials Science / Civil Engineering, and / or experience in innovation, product development or R&D,
  • M.Sc. degree will also be considered, depending on experience and background



  • At least 5 years of professional experience in soil treatment and geotechnical works
  • International background is a must with an experience abroad; English is mandatory.


Knowledge & Skills

  • Solid knowledge in road pavement design
  • Knowledge on cement and soil - cement interactions will be appreciated
  • Taste for innovation and experience in management of laboratory work
  • Result-oriented approach, commitment and excellent organization skills
  • Excellent analytical skills, agility and ability to quickly acquire new skills
  • Team spirit, with other researchers, engineers and technicians
  • Excellent oral and written skills.
