In the role of Senior Manager Sustainable Construction, you will focus on ensuring the Group lives up to its sustainability values and ambitions, and continuously improves its performance, over the entire life-cycle of its products and services. You directly contribute to the realization of the Group’s ambition to become a recognized leader in developing and implementing Sustainability Enhanced Solutions, in achieving transparency towards the marketplace on the environmental performance of products and services, and proactively creating solutions for the sector in transition to sustainable construction. The Senior Manager Sustainable Construction champions building solutions with superior environmental and social performance at all phases from design, through construction, use and recycling.


As the Senior Manager Sustainable Contruction you will be responsible to:

  • Champion and lead Sustainable Construction strategies, policies and directives of the Group in close cooperation with the Innovation, R&D, Marketing and Sales functions, as well as contributing to the definition of targets and initiatives related to Sustainable Products and Services
  • Advocate Sustainable Construction solutions that deliver material efficiency and enable circular material flows as well as leveraging innovation and new technologies (including 3D printing), to build more with less
  • Help coordinate the implementation of Sustainable Construction strategies, policies and directives, ensuring internal alignment; and support countries to implement and embed policies and improvement programs considering local specificities, market and key stakeholder needs
  • Provide strategic guidance and support knowledge and practice exchange activities on Sustainable Construction topics between countries, sustainability professionals and the LafargeHolcim Foundation for Sustainable Construction
  • Support operations in the development and deployment of Life-Cycle Assessments, Environmental Product Declarations and Responsible Sourcing Schemes
  • Contribute to enriching the Group’s Corporate Sustainable Development reporting
  • Represent the Group with key external environmental/sustainable construction stakeholders at corporate level, and within relevant associations or organizations such as WBCSD, GCCA, CSC, national green building councils, etc.
  • Contribute to and build corporate partnerships with LafargeHolcim supporting the achievement of strategic goals in sustainable construction
  • Support advocacy on related topics for an enabling policy framework, working in close collaboration with Group Public Affairs
  • Provide thought leadership and have a flair for presenting Sustainable Construction themes on behalf of LafargeHolcim within academic networks and at external conferences


  • Relevant masters or doctorate or (equivalent experience in architecture or related fields)


  • Minimum 5 to 10 years' experience in the domain of Sustainable Construction/Marketing/Innovation in large multinationals (global level, regional level or country level)
  • Experience of working in a corporate environment
  • Strong experience of stakeholder relations, with government and non-government bodies

Knowledge & Skills

  • Deep understanding of the use of cement/concrete products, of sustainable construction practices, of green building schemes, of life-cycle assessment frameworks and of Building Information Modeling
  • Deep understanding of the potential contribution of our products to more sustainable construction practices with reduced footprint
  • Excellent communication, networking and influencing skills

Language Requirements

High proficiency in English (spoken and written)

Travel Requirements

25% of the time spent traveling internationally
